We are looking for an Experienced Building Inspector!

What does a day “in the life” look like for this role?
- Conduct building inspections and minor plan reviews for code compliance.
- Inspect new construction, renovations, and repairs for quality and safety to verify construction aligns with approved plans and adopted codes.
- Read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
- Maintain accurate records of inspection activities and findings.
THE MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING ARE:
- One (1) year of experience as a Building Inspector is required.
- A High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Three (3) years of experience in construction trades is required.
- Possess or obtain within six (6) months of hire date, a minimum of three (3) of the following inspection certifications: International Code Council (ICC) Building,
ICC Plumbing, ICC Electrical, ICC Residential, or ICC Mechanical. Certification must be current and maintained during term of employment. - Additional licenses or certifications may be required for this position.
PREFERED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND TRAINING
- Graduation from an accredited technical school program is preferred.
MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTS
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Be highly engaged in the department’s goals and be able to work cooperatively with City of Branson leadership in achieving those goals.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service to the department’s internal or external customers.
- Possess a high degree of integrity, strong work ethic and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Possess strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills, strong interpersonal communication and relational skills, good organizational, project management skills, sound judgment, initiative, flexibility, and be detail oriented.
- A valid driver’s license and be insurable under the City of Branson’s motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position is required.
- Must possess no felony convictions at any time while employed by the City of Branson.
- Act safely and follow safety standards while at work.
- Be able to pass a background investigation and drug and alcohol screenings.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: The starting hourly wage is $23.25 per hour and will increase to $24.18 per hour after 6 months of successful probation.
